Richard Kent of Milton Keynes, England is set to drive for GDT in the opening rounds of the 2010 Star Mazda presented by Goodyear championship.

Kent, in the 2009 championship, scored 4 pole positions, 4 podiums and 2 victories on his way to 7th position in the points. Kent, driving for Team GDT during the January test and set the 4th fastest time, had this to say:

“I am extremely excited to get back in their car. We made some good progress together during the January test. I know the GDT guys have been working really hard since the test and I’m sure we will be at the sharp end when we get on track at Sebring. I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel after what has seemed to be a long off season”

Paul Mata from GDT said “We are really excited at signing Richard for Sebring and St Pete and we are working hard to build a package to ensure Richard can continue for the remainder of the season.”

Back for 2010 will be team owner JW Roberts who missed most of last year due to the birth of his new daughter. At the Sebring test, JW raised eyebrows by turning times in top ten and he is ready to race for the Expert championship.

Carlos Conde will be challenging for his first win in the Masters class. Conde tested with Team GDT at the Sebring test and went two seconds faster than his best time there. “Working with driver coach Chuck West was extremely helpful in showing me the nuances of the challenging circuit. I am excited about the 2010 season”.

Team GDT has been participating as a team in the Star Mazda Series since 2007 and has ramped up the effort for 2010.  “Having the chance to compete for three championships is an exciting opportunity” exclaims team manager Paul Mata.
